paying, booking and ‘recharging’ from your easy chair with the TeleChipper
To recharge your Chipper at home, simply connect the TeleChipper to your telephone or computer. You can also use it to make payments and to provide identification from the comfort of your easy chair. The TeleChipper was cooked up in the kitchen of Øl Research and is the ‘key’ to the Chipper. The device is available at Primafoon shops. A telephone with a built-in TeleChipper, the Washington 50, has also been introduced. The TeleChipper is a unique invention, and some of its components are patented.

How does the TeleChipper work? Contact is made by telephone with a central system, the Recharge Server, a concept developed by Øl Research. Simply insert the card in the TeleChipper and hold it against the receiver. The information is transmitted acoustically. You can also connect the TeleChipper to the Internet by means of a special cable.

The detached TeleChipper is an inexpensive interim solution which allows you to make use of the new service without having to buy a new telephone. Primafoon shops now carry the Washington 50, a phone with an integrated smart card interface.

According to the project team at Øl Research, the TeleChipper is currently the worldwide trendsetter in the area of home terminal concepts. It is an innovative product, which was why Øl took out a worldwide patent on it. Together with the Chipper team, the TeleChipper team won this year’s Diana Prize for the practical applicability of its scientific research.
